Museum Adult Art Classes - MUSADULT
Watercolor Studies: Experimental Techniques
Watercolor Studies: Experimental Techniques
Step beyond traditional watercolor and explore the playful, unpredictable side of the medium in this 6-week workshop designed for adults. This course is all about experimentation, creative risk-taking, and discovering new ways to make watercolor your own.
Each week, we’ll dive into a different experimental approach — from layering and lifting to working with texture, unconventional tools, mixed media, and expressive mark-making. You’ll learn how to let go of perfection, embrace happy accidents, and use water, pigment, and movement to create dynamic, expressive work.
This is a supportive, process-focused class where curiosity matters more than rules. Whether you’re new to watercolor or looking to loosen up your existing practice, you’ll leave with fresh techniques, creative confidence, and a collection of unique studies and finished pieces.
