Beginning Hand Building
Explore fundamental clay forming techniques including pinching, coiling, and slab forming, and gain an understanding of ceramic materials and glazing. Sessions include demonstrations and practice time under the guidance of the instructor, as well as glaze, firing, and access to the studio during scheduled open studio time. Attendance to the first class and the glazing class is mandatory. Clay must be purchased from the museum. You may bring your own tools or purchase them at the museum. (Open studio times subject to change – call the front desk in advance to verify studio schedule.)
