Microgreens & Grass Buddies
Roots & Shoots Microgreen Farm was founded by Brianne Oliveira, a chef and master gardener with a deep respect for food, the earth, and the systems that connect them. She provides hands-on education and activities for all ages, teaching not only how to grow food, but why it matters. A dedicated Coral Springs community member and Rotary Club member, she helps connect the community garden and Rotary around sustainability, education, and access to fresh food.
Week 1: Paint Our Grass Buddy Pots
Decorate and paint our pots to create our very own grass buddies.
Week 2: Plant Our Grass Buddies
Plant our grass buddies and watch them begin to grow.
Week 3: Plant Our Microgreens
Plant our microgreens and get them started.
Week 4: Haircut Time!
Give our grass buddies a haircut and cut our microgreens.
Take-Home Activity: Each child takes home their grass buddy and microgreens cup, which will likely regrow for a second time.
