Museum Teen Art Classes - MUSTEEN

Make art using your interests! This six-week course will introduce teen artists to the Pop and Commercial art movements and the art form of collage, all while letting you explore the brands and fandoms you’re interested in. Artist Rachel Gordon will teach teen artists about Pop artists like Roy Lichtenstein and Eduardo Paolozzi, who created artwork based on pre-existing brands and commercials. Each week you’ll be guided through a pop culture themed project, allowing each artist to focus on the brands and fandoms they enjoy, all while learning new artistic techniques.

Over six weeks you’ll work on the following fun projects:

Project One: Make your own gaming poster! Create a video game poster for a pre-existing or original game that advertises the game’s style and feature.

Project Two: Create your own small Cabinet of Curiosities and display 3D objects showcasing your pop culture interests.

Project Three: Make your own comic! Using your favorite stories, you’ll draw a short fan comic that introduces a story you enjoy with a major plot twist.

Project Four: Explore brand collabs and create your own collage of two brands into one promotional item.
