Museum Youth Art Classes - MUSYOUTH

This eight-week course is designed to offer homeschool students, ages 9 – 12, an opportunity to socialize while learning about the elements of art, principles of design, and art history through hands on projects and exploring the museum. Students will learn foundational art techniques and all about the elements of art and principles of design as they complete different art projects throughout the eight weeks of the course. This class uses art as an introduction to different cultures, history, and geography as students learn about different artists and art movements. This term will introduce young artists to the element of shape and feature lessons on artist Henri Matisse.

Projects will include:
Matisse inspired cut out collage
Geometric shapes tempera painting
Paper clay gratitude pumpkin ornament
Pumpkin patch mixed media collage landscape
Watercolor Fall Wreath.
